As soon as I step into the room 5.1, I see bald heads. I see a bunch of guys in shirts(what they call civilian clothings), a couple in their army uniform. I scanned the whole room and was relieved to see 2 girls sitting at the corner of the classroom. For the first time, the guys outnumbered the girls. There were 3 times as many guys as girls. Almost immediately, I went straight there after the verification of documents.
It was ultra NOISY! Because all the army boys(yes BOYS) were busy blabbering about their army life! All the army jargon that only they themselves and malays can understand. So the 3 of us just chatted amongst ourselves. It was like a social experiment inside there. Like we were being put into the same room as the opposite sex to see how we communicate and react to each other. Well, if the experiment really took place, it would fail. Because there was a red sea that separated the girls from the guys.
The interview was not one on one, but a group interview. 2 professors and 4 prospective students. We had to place our name cards infront of us, sit in a row facing the professors. A group interview is different because it makes you less nervous and less intimidated. In addition, the session will keep on going. I suppose you wouldn't run out of things to say. However, there are always two sides of the coin! Why? Because not everyone will get a chance to say what they want.
In my interview, the professors just directed a question to the group and whoever wanted to answer first answers. It was such a disappointment! I didn't get many chances to give my two cents worth. Sigh. I should have just said whatever that was at the tip of my tongue then. But you know I thought it was always better to listen to someone speak first. I guess I was wrong. It is important to be confident about your anwser even if it sounds like rubbish. The interview just ended like that. I did not have enough. Seriously. It felt more like a chit chat session.
Another door closed for sure (But I seriously hope not). Sigh. Oh wells, what's done has already been done. I've already done my best at both interviews. Now I'm just going to leave it to God and see where He intends me to go.
