Back from Rhema & Camy Retreat.

Being part of the Rhema committee in itself is a great blessing. It was a great opportunity to expose myself to different circumstances, and grow in the Lord... It was also another experience to work with different individuals of different working styles. I'm so blessed to be able to be part of this wonderful committee. (Pictures will be up soon!)

Pastor Andy rocks. Although he is small, he has tremendous energy and very passionate for his ministy. (Reminds me of Joey. Ha, loads of people think so too ah.) I was blessed by the three "P"s. 1.Purpose - knowing our purpose will shape your destiny. Our purpose in life will determine our identity, not the other way around. 2. Potential - All of us have hidden potential. We should look beyond what we see. A durian seed is not just a seed, but a FOREST. 3. Process.... (whooops. I think I was running errands then.) 4. Philip, Andrew and the little boy. (I couldn't really concentrate that day. I think my mind was clouded with thoughts.)

I remember breaking down after the first night rally because many things happened to me the whole day and the emotions just accumulated, I remember working on the script many many times with Cheryl (ng), Joey and Joel Tay, I remember how we always laugh at Huifen and Andrea over rehearsals during the "Bimbo" scene (very natural I tell you, talented in other words), I remember desperately crying out for God on the third night rally, I remember how Kennaf was so extremely happy after the last Rhema rush ended, I remember how the conferrees worshipped (worship was awesome in fact, God's presence was so strong)... SO many more things to remember!

Well, the many things that happened during Rhema helped me to fully taste and experience what it meant to have God in control, TOTAL control and there is NOTHING we should worry about... What it meant to fully TRUST in God, what it meant know that God is pleased with us so long as we've done your best, what it meant to take the focus of ourselves...
Cuixian, Evan and I headed down to Marina South to meet the rest of the Camy-ians for the Camy retreat at St. John's Island! I was extremely tired and I think I suffered from sleep deficit.. I don't know why, but I could really sleep anywhere and everywhere. The ferry was SO rocky I tell you. I have the rocky, bobbing up and down feeling even right now! (I think I slept too much. haha. Reminds me of Tioman! And boy, it was one and a half years ago!)
Anyway, Camy retreat was really a retreat. It was so relaxing.. I like. The place we slept looked worst than a army bunk. It looked so old-school-hospital-like bunk with loads of mosquitoes... I remember I sprayed so much insect repellent on myself I look like I had shiny skin. HAha. I'm afraid of mosquitoes 'cos if the NTU ones.

These were the highlight of Camy retreat:

1. Cook "Char-bee hoon". Yea, I can't cook. And it was evident then. I don't know why my team cooked SO much bee hoon. But Ricky had such a hard time trying to fry it. Haha. We poked fun at how he stir-fried it and he just said "Aiyah, very heavy lah..." And yes, we had to swallow 8 bowls of char-coaled bee-hoon. In the end, both teams only managed to finish 3 bowls. Haha. Nonetheless, it was an interesting activity!

2. BBQ cum campfire. I didn't cook, I ate. haaha. Then the stewards gave us an evaluation of how we've done the whole year and how we can improve... I think it was a really sweet gesture!

3. The shower- it was army style. No doors. The partitions for each cubicle was only until my shoulder. So the girls had to refrain from looking over. haha. Interesting.

4. 10 o'clock hike. All of us went for the hike except Cuixian and Manrong... We walked to this place to chill out. We sat in a circle, sang songs (live music!) and did a replay of DYTM's break up scene (cos the two main characters-samantha and jeremy were there). Super entertaining.. Then we laid on the floor to look at the stars... It reminded me of Louie Giglo's presentation at Hillsong conference this year about how small the earth is compared to the whole universe... and God created EVERYTHING... Amazing. I did some reflection and was thinking of someone.. And I became a little emotional (maybe I was just tired). We were treated with loads of shooting stars. I only managed to see one though.. But it was still a treat, cos how often do we get to see stars/ shooting stars in Singapore? It was very cold, and being the toilet queen, I had to go to the toilet. But because we were outdoors, I had to pee behind the trees. Haha.

Anyhow, this week ZOOMed past like that. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks and the new year ahead... :)

it was recorded.
