5 months! That is the amount of time I spent over there since the start of the year! It was a boring job being an administrative assistant-doing all the leftover work, tedious data entry, tons of filing (i think they stock up the filing until a temp staff comes), lots of typing and laminating. Basically all the "sai gang". Bet they will miss me - the services I provide. Having to report to work by 7.30am was a killer- it was like reprting to school before morning assembly (instead of flag raising, we had to do our morning exercise. haha. how funny. I can demostrate the whole sequence to you *hums the tune*)!
I learned quite a little bit over there-about the office. The real world isn't exactly a nice place to work in. Characters in my department ranges from quiet to noisey, short to tall, young to old. Each person is queer in his/her own ways. But one thing in common for sure: people there act very well... (they can consider joining Mediacorp if they lose their job. Heh.) Office politics is evident in the place. From my observations, the higher your position in the office, the more hypocritical and snobbish you get. Big boses are lazy and childish (they gossip and complain like little kids do). Big bosses are also insecure. (but maybe only some bosses there behave this way)
Within these 5 months, I got to know myself better. I am quite organised and I can't stand messy tables. Once given a task, I will do my best to complete it as soon as possible (with quality of course). I hate people who delay my work and I detest people who give me last minute work. I love to help, but I cannot tolerate with people who need help because they are too lazy to help themselves. Whooopps. Girls that "teh", "act-teh", "act-cute" to gain attention annoy me. (eeewwww.. I hope I am not like that. Please correct me if I do). I realise I am quite a scatter-brain too. I always cannot remember where I left my things and start to panick. But somehow I'll manage to locate them, thanks be to God.
I like the friends that I've made over there. People slightly older than me, people who are "siao" (the cheery type), people who are quite sporty (I like). These are the people that make my stay in JSL enjoyable! It's a pity I only started to know them better last month. =( I'm gonna miss them so much. Thank you Lord for blessing me with them..
I thank God for giving me such a fruitful time over at JSL.
Wells, I'm gonna start work in Gracefields Childcare tomorrow. It is 10 mins away from my house. Pretty excited because I'll be working with kids. I read shao's blog entry on her relationship with her kindergarten kids and I really like her experience. May this job allow me to develop my motherly instincts (ahaah) and discover more about myself.
