much of you
steven curtis chapman

How could I stand here
And watch the sun rise Follow the mountains
Where they touch the sky
Ponder the vastness
And the depths of the sea
And think for a moment
The point of it all was to make much of me
Cause I'm just a whisper
And You are the thunder and...

I want to make much of You, Jesus
I want to make much of Your love
I want to live today to give You the praise
That You alone are so worthy of
I want to make much of Your mercy
I want to make much of your cross
I give You my life
Take it and let it be used
To make much of You

The thorns and the whip and the nails and the spear
The infinite cost
To purchase my pardon
And bear al my shame
To think I have anything worth boasting in
Except for Your name
Cause I am a sinner
And You are the Savior and....

This is your love oh, God
Not to make much of me
But to send Your own Son
So that we could make much of You
For all eternity

I make mistakes. And I thank you all for correcting my mistakes. Appreciate them. =) But I don't like it when people accuse me of doing things that I did not do! Just because I am new doesn't always necessary mean that you can blame me for it! Be it forgetting to wash something or losing a pair shorts or not cleaning up the dishes properly. Raaaaaaah.. I washed the things I am supposed to. I didn't lose her shorts (her grandpa must have been exaggerating because the grandma who washes her clothes did not complain). I washed my dishes well okay (blame your full time people! NOt me. Shame on them.) Stupidly, I got all the blame not daring to stand up for myself. I will the next time!

I'm going to stay in the hostel for one semester. Just to get a feel of what hostel life is like. After all, I live 15 minutes away from school (including waiting time). I've found my room mate - huifen! yay! She'll be staying for one semester too and she'll be leading the NTU cell. How exciting!

I passed my evaluation test (beacuse I am a student of the driving centre)! Yay! Praise the Lord. Great achievement okay! After 2 failed attempts. How shameful! haha. Now I am qualified to take the BTT. Hopefully I will not fail this time. ha.

I have a God who is a God of all things and a God of small things as well! Thank God for His favor upon me this week, allowing me to spend time with Him in the afternoons with the whole house to myself! heh. Kor's at a camp.. Dad's on a business trip.. Mum was at ah ma's house.. Wheeee..

Tomorrow's my turn to be out of the house! I'll be going to Batam for a short trip over the weekend! So.. pray with me yea! Like what zhi said, everything is just so timely. I choose to believe it! Don't know what to expect though!

What is change?
It means to cause somebody or something to become different; alter

Change happens when:
It hurts enough to have to change
We learn enough to want to change
We receive enough to be able to change

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. (so true)
- Leo Tolstoy
But its not true now because I want to change myself.. I've learned and I've received (I am still learning and I am still receiving). I am in for a change. It's going to be a slow process but I am going to undergo this change bravely!

I shall turn my procrastination into my determination.

I don't care what people will say
I'm running after You
No matter what may come my way
I'm running after You

I pray that I mean what I say...

These are just some pictures taken with my phone. hehe. Awwww.. tell me you like them! (more to come)

From the Nursery Class:

Alvinia
Cheryl
Jordan and WanXin

Yin Wei

Nicole

Yu Ren and Zhao Na

And please salute the teachers who looked after you when you were younger. (especially all those of you who are guilty of being hyperactive and roudy and playful!) haha. 3 cheers for the teachers! They are the ones who laid the learning foundation for us, but are the least remembered throughout our entire education. Am I not right? =)

I shall blog about the retreat while it is still fresh in my mind. Sorry if some of you cannot relate to it. Nevertheless, I'll blog about it, because it concerns me and I want to testify what the Lord has done for me in this retreat and the people He has blessed me with. =)

For those of you who do not know what a retreat is, it's the withdrawal from worldly activities for prayer and meditation.

Highlights of the retreat:
  1. Von and I had the biggest room! ha. We stepped in, saw a walk way with a mini kitchen, one dining table, one table for writing, one living rooom, 2 beds, a tv, a hi fi set and an ultra big toilet with a bath tub, a shower room, 2 sinks, a uriner, a toilet bowl and 3 doors. We were so excited. Started screaming and running all over, thinking that we were super special. So, we started telling everyone that we had a super big room! heh. Little did we know that our room was no different from everyone else. haaa.
  2. It was held at Berjaya Times Square- Shopping Paradise. If you know me well, I love to shop. So I was super tempted to shop during the Fellowship. The shops with the 4 letter word (SALE) or those with mega discounts were screaming at me! Ha. I even had to closed my eyes to walk for a little while to resist temptation. heh.
  3. We did street evangelism over there. We had to do it in chinese. Super difficult. Most of our Mandarin sound really bad. BUt you know what, God empowered us to speak! I was so encouraged by Michele and Lydia who were initially afraid to share their testimonies, but ultimately shared bravely. Indeed God can turn our littleness into His greatness and our weaknesses into His strength. Praise God for the 10 salvations..
  4. Had a great time with von on wed night. We never talked so long before. But I'm sure the talk had strengtened our friendship and trust in each other. Thank you for being there von and being accountable for me. Remember where you belong! They need you. =)
  5. I played on Thurs morning. It was a struggle because the service was spirit led. So I was in for a playing-on-the-spot situation. Super tough. hmmm.. felt a little discouraged, heavy and unrelieved. Overwelming heaviness. Raaaahh.. It's different worshipping in the congregation and worshipping while playing. However, I realised I was not the only one feeling this way. My fellow mate felt this way too. Thank God for allowing us to talk and express our feelings to each other. At least we know that we were in the situation together. Like what von said, maybe God wanted us to learn something from that experience? Probably. It has made me ponder more about walk with God. I need to be constantly in tuned with God if I really wanna serve in this ministry. I must also develop genuine love for the people I am serving. No one knows what's gonna happen next. It's kind of sad to hear that the older ones do not know what to do with the trainees. =( Only God knows, so we'll trust God, in His time. Anyways, thanks for your encouragements shifu.
  6. Thanks Liang for praying for our families that night. Made me think about what I have been doing with my life too. It's super cool to see the families hugging and praying together. I'm jealous. Hah. Lord, I'll never give up interceeding for my family's salvation.
  7. Lester (xd!), you're super sweet. Thanks for the monkey. Catch up soon alright! And I am super sorry for the stale Maggi Meee.. heh. I see your heart! haha. And you know I still love you. =)

This retreat got me thinking about so many things. Each day got more depressing day than the previous. I did not want to hear so many things. Bleah. God was harsh, but I choose to believe that He wants me to realise these things so I could change. It is about time actually. I do not want to waste anymore time. But I think I still need time to recover from the heart surgery... =) The retreat did not end in a hype unlike the other retreats/ youth camps. Very different. There were no happy endings like singing "One Way" and jumping all over. It felt rather solemn. (ha. Maybe some people did not feel this way. Nonetheless, it was how I felt.) I have to re-shuffle my priorities in life. And I must learn to share more. I think I am keeping to myself too much. I need to remove the pride in me and be broken before God... I need to do something more to my private life. I cannot be lazy anymore. I cannot declare status quo and be satisfied, I must hunger for more. I do not want to be the dead sea. The dead sea is dead because it receives too much from the river and has no output. I want to be a sea that is alive... Let the transformation begin! *ah-char!* Pray with me?! Thank you!

Healing Rain is falling down,

Healing Rain is falling down,

I'm not afraid,

I'm not afraid.

My first time working with kids. And I am already exhuasted! Not an easy job at all! Whar... you need to have A LOT of stamina.

The things I have to do:
  1. Play with them
  2. Watch them
  3. Make sure they do not fight
  4. Be their mediator
  5. Bathe them
  6. Give them attention (they fight for attention. And I mean it)
  7. Serve them
  8. Discipline them
  9. Change diapers
  10. Make milk
  11. Make them sleep

Totally different from office work mann...

"Teacher, teacher, she beat me..."

"Teacher, teacher, they keep running all over the place. Very naughty."

"Teacher, I want to shee shee.."

"Teacher, he don't want to share his toys with me."

*cries and bawls* "Teacher, she take the pencil and draw on my face."

*cries and bawls and shows me her hand* [ "okay, sayang."]

"Teacher, I want to be leader." (leader of the queue) *holds my hand tightly*

"Teacher teacher, see..." [showed me whatever they have made with the play dough]

"Teacher, help me make a fish." [used the mould. made a fish]

"Teacher, I want the star... small small one."

"Teacher, you pretend to be my teacher. Then she pretend to want to kill you. Then I save you." [played along with them. haha. off they went *pang pang pang...*]

Quite cute lah! But it is not easy. You need to be firm (so they'll be scared of you), but you cannot overdo it (if not it'll hurt their feelings). The thing about children is they have short term memory! They do not bear any grudges. So you can scold them one moment and they'll be afraid, the next moment they'll be totally alright. I want to kidnap some of them! Soooooooo adorable.
