I am angry with myself. I am angry with the people around me. URGH.

I don't know why I have been screwing up my timings. I never had. I used to have good time management. Not now! Wonder what has happened. Just recently on sat, I thought my driving lesson was at 2. I waited for 10 mins, called my instructor to ask him where he was, only to find out that my lesson was at 3! So i idled around. Thank goodness i brought my advance theory booklet along.. so I studied it, in preparation for my test TODAY.

Okay. So why am I so pissed off?

I skipped all my lectures today because we had costume fitting today! It was over at arab street. My partner was late. So we had to cab down! *great, we wasted $17* We could have taken a train down. But because I THOUGHT I was going to have my test TODAY, I told him I needed to leave the place by 2.30pm (I THOUGHT my test was at 3.30). So by 2.30, I left Arab street in a cab. Reached BBDC at 3pm. When the testers called the people in around 3.30pm, she said "people taking BTT please come." Worried, I went down to print the confirmation slip. It was then that i realised my test was at 4.30pm! URGH. I wasted another $17 cabbing down to BBDC!

Thinking that I had 1 and a half hours to catch up with whatever I missed out or was unclear about, I sat down to study! Finally, when it was 4.20pm, the person called us in. i patiently waited for my name to be called....

Great, my name was called. I showed him my EZ LINK card. And he said I wasn't allowed to take the test. I told him I will ask my mum to bring the IC down asap and pleaded with him. I kept insisting that I wanted to take the test. After all, I've wasted so much TIME! However, this idiotic person was very inflexible. HE said i can only take the test with the PINK IC. He said "Ask your mum to rush down." (my mum was at commonwealth when I called her at 4.30pm. So how on earth is she going to rush home to take the IC, rush back to BBDC in 15 mins?) I said that in order for me to take the FFT, I must have taken the BTT. And that has proven that I showed my IC before. I mean, can't I just take the test and show you the IC a little later? That sickening man was just so INFLEXIBLE. Was he trying to make things difficult for me? HE made me CRY!

Irritating. Okay, I agree I was in the wrong as well. i should have brought my IC along. BUt i really spent a lot of time studying for this! I slept at 2 this morning. Woke up at 7.30 to read it through for 1 hour before i went for my tutorial! ALL FOR NOTHING!

URGHHHHH...
I hate inflexible people.

Maybe looking at things on the brighter side, I've learned two things from this experience.
1. Never do last minute work
2. Order of priority. Big rocks first then the sand.
3. Never do too many things in one day
4. Take things slowly. (sigh... now i have to wait till october before i can take my test again!)

I don't know mann. I am still angry. Sorry for the uncluttered writing because my brain is full of anger. Sorry b2 for screaming at you just now. HEH. Thanks for listening though! =)

whao! i travelled from bukit batok to pasir ris and from pasir ris all the way back to LAKESIDE- 25 stops in total which took me an hour and a half to get home! Well, the journey didn't seem that long because I had great company on the train! The first half of the journey was full of laughter and crazy antics (aka taking photos of ourselves). The second half of the journey was pretty quiet, hence I slept.

There were 4 of us..

Initially, there wasn't anyone on the train. So we took photos of ourselves. Only cheryl and I enjoyed this. HEh. Grace and Von were being forced into taking the photos because they were sitting in between us!

While sleeping, I suddenly jumped up (wonder what i was dreaming about) and the auntie opposite me laughed at me. HEh. I laughed it off too. Hurhur. So embarassing.

Do you know how scientists kill frogs?

Well, they put the frog in a beaker of water and start boiling it. The frog doesn't die until the water reaches boiling point. It suddenly dies. hmmm.. slow death eh!

So why did i bring this up? huifen shared this with me over our conversation and i thought it was quite realistic.. Sometimes in life, we become that frog in the beaker. Like the frog immerse with water, we constantly expose ourselves to the things of the world. One day, we will suddenly reach boiling point (just as the water did) and die. Our relationship with God just dies off like that; without us knowing it. We allow so much of the world to get into us that we forget what's more important.

I don't want to be that frog. I don't want to be sucked in. I pray that our hearts and minds would be guarded. I pray that I would be prepared for a heavier workload... Eventhough my timetable may be really slack, it's not good at all. Because the more slack it is, the less motivation I have to work. =(

The worst thing is, this is just the BEGINNING! AhhhhhhHH! I must remind myself to trust God.

it wasn't a chick flick. it was a pretty decent movie.
watched this with half of PUMBAA at JP today! how exciting.

This is a comedy. Some parts were quite rubbish. But there were some parts of the movie which was quite sad! Sad enough to pull your heart strings. Well, at least it made the girls cry. hEH. The movie taught me about life! It really made me think about it. Every second, every moment of it is important. I don't want to leave this world regretting. Life is not all about climbing the coporate ladder and being successful. Life revolves around your loved ones. Life is God-given and I want to lead a purpose driven life. HEH.

Anyway.. school is fun! There is hardly any chance to meet new friends. Because everyone sticks to their friends- either from the orientation camps or from JC. Thank God for the friends that I already knew before hand. Otherwise, I'll be some lost sheep in school. However, I never knew there was so much math involved in economics! =( AHHHHH... the worst thing is, we use math to derive economics concepts! How cool is that.

And why do people smoke!? IS there so much pleasure in smoking? They are decent people. But once they take out the cigarette, sigh... it's such a pity.

You said you know your purpose in life. YOu said God has already showed you His plan. You said you've read the bible and christian novels. Through the conversation, you seem like you know what you are talking about. But why haven't you gone back to church? Why do you still smoke? Are you sure you know what God's plans really are? ARe you just taking what God has spoken to you with a pinch of salt, taking it for granted? I don't know mann...

Just recently I met two friends who are like that.. We'll keep praying!

sooooo uni has started. another chapter of my life has started. i certainly don't want the other chapters of my life to close, especially in the area of relationships. i really want to treasure my relationship with God, my family members and my friends. Somehow, i feel that i am going to struggle a lot with these. Seriously.. I am still in the "honeymoon" period, enjoying myself. But i guess now's the time to really test my faith and test the waters. i'll really try my best to maintain all the relationships!

i really like the sports camp people. i am really tempted to join the sports club and run for the main commitee. i want to be in it. i want to be part of it. the people there are really nice and fun-loving. however, joining this club comes with a price. YOu have to sacrifice your studies and time.. That is something i would not want to do... because i know i have other commitments. I don't want to be tied down by them. I presume being in this club would definitely draw me away from God.. Soooo... i have decided to do away with something i really really like and enjoy.. No more sports club main committee for me!

Whooo! I survived the sports camp! Commonly known as the Most Tiring, Most "Cheong", Most "Heong", Most "shag", Most Fun, Most Exciting... Dirtiest, Craziest.. etc camp in NTU! I am so glad had a chance to be a participant of the camp. There are just so many things to say. But you wouldn't be able to fully understand what we've gone through unless you experience it yourself! Listening to / reading my stories wouldn't fully bring out my inner most feelings. Welll, to start it all off, we only had an average of 3 hours of sleep per day. The activities are just packed to the brim! No breaks, no rest.

We had our first meeting on the 22nd of July at Sky Garden last Saturday. There and then we met our orientation groups and the other 3 groups that made up a WORLD. I was in Disney World- where everyday is a festival. The other worlds met at different places. There was Toons World which symbolises: Live and Play; Live to Play. Music World which means your world of so many talents. And Sea World which represents a voyage of many friendships.

Anyway, this is just a gist of what I have gone through:

Day One:

  • Meeting Time: 3.30pm. Group dinner. Group grocery shopping to get the welfare items such as strepsils, Pi Pa Gao, Vitamin C, Honey, Plasters, Alcohol Swipes, Aloe Vera Gel, Sun Block.... etc.
  • Universe gathering at NTU's Sports and Recreation Centre (SRC). Universe gathering meaning ALL the 4 worlds unite.
  • Walked all the way to Hall 12 for the opening ceremony. Super Cool. Fire balls slided down the building to light up the structure. =)
  • Made our way to the Function Hall for various performances put up by the seniors of the different worlds.
  • Ice Breakers. (They made guys and girls do funny stuff... like piggy back, lick chocolate off on both sides of a piece of tracing paper... blah blah. Quite funny)
  • War games. I mean really WAR. The guys had to form a wall to protect the girls of the same world... Then the girls of the other world will try to break the wall by pulling, scracthing.. The protected girls have to in turn protect the guys by pushing the other opponents away from the guys. Soooo... what was the outcome? Breathless people with lots of cuts and bruises.

Day Two (start of the hungry ghost festival):

  • Field Activities 1. Go to different stations to play games with other groups
  • Pool Activities in the afternoon.
  • Off to Old Changi General Hospital for Fright Night. Whaooo... this was one of the main highlights of the camp! I mean which idiot would go to OCGH on the first day of the hungry ghost festival? Even though I know God has overcomed evil, and He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world, the thought of visiting a haunted place cast shivers down your spine!

Basically, there were 20 station altogether. All the participants were involved in a Murder Scene. There was a controller who would bring us to the various stations. So we just had to follow him around the hospital. We are like investigators trying to solve the mystery of the murder of one of the famous Chopstick Sisters- Xiang Xiang. So at each station, there was acting. These acting would lead you to the clue of who killed who... Some stations were interactive, some were not. Interactive stations meant that you can communicate with the actors to get clues. Non- interactive stations meant that you just had to observe the actors/ acteresses. I tell you, the seniors are super good actors la! And at every station, someone will jump at you in attempt to scare you! After every station, we will be place in a DARK room known as the holding area. At this holding area, the group is supposed to discuss what we have just seen and decipher who the possible murderers could be. Soooo Coool! Kudos to the organisers.

Day 3:

  • Hiking along Bukit Timah Hill (station activities again)
  • Followed by cycling in one of the tough terrains over at the CCK area.
  • Went back to campus for night activities
  • Seemingly the most boring day of all

Day 4:

  • Made our way to Pasir Ris Park in the morning for the sea activities.
  • Canoed all the way to one island for a coconut drink
  • Canoed all the way back to the coast.
  • We did banana boat, jet skiing, sailing, wind surfing. SOoooooo FUN!
  • War games in the night again. The battle between the Worlds
  • At around 11 plus, we made our way to East Coast Park to collect our bicycles.
  • We did night cycling! I lost track of time becuase I was really sleepy. We cycled from East Coast all the way back to school (in BOON LAY). Exhuasting! OUr first stop was at the war memorial at city hall. Second stop was at harbour front. 3rd and last stop was at west coast park. 4th short stop was at lakeside mrt station.
  • I remember I only got to sleep for 1 hour that day.

Day 5:

  • Field activities 2. Introduction to various sports groups in NTU. So we got to try out certain sports such as In-line hockey, Floor ball, Scuba-Diving, Archery, Frisbee...
  • We had Amazing Race in the afternoon all through the day. Completed about 6 stations around Singapore. This was only PART 1.
  • My team came in 10th.
  • Slept in tents at East Coast Park

Day 6:

  • Continuation of Amazing Race PART 2
  • Ran all over Singapore again. (ohhh! and I got to try the cable SKI!)
  • Hitched a ride on a LORRY. something to remember as well. we never knew there were kind people around.
  • When we finally completed the whole race, my team came in 3rd!
  • In the evening, we mad our way back to changi beach for Starry Starry Night. Where you spend time (dinner) with your secret partner. Super funny. Seniors forced the couple to hold hands, made the guys carry the girls.. blah.. All for the sake of fun! So since we are all sporty people, we just do whatever we've been asked to do. Poor guys.
  • Then there was dancing. (which I totally didn't enjoy. So my "secret partner" and I just sat down and talked about NJ cos he was my senior! heh)

Day 7:

  • This was the highlight of the whole camp. The Grand Finale.
  • It was crazy..
  • We were being stretched beyond our limits.
  • I remember running and pulling and climbing and more running and stepping on guys...
  • Very hard to blog about it. Cos there is a lot to say!
  • Built two sedans. One for the girls to carry, another for the guys to carry, each with a girl on top... Swim for 50m.. Run up a flight of steps (never ending).. Run through the canal, Mud crawl on the back.. Climb up a vertical wall.. climb down the wall.. Pull yourself across a lake.. Girls have to pull the guys on the tyre.. Guys have to pull all the girls on the lorry up slope... running and more running.... So tiring yet so fun.

I can't believe I only paid 50 bucks for the camp. This is one of the most memorable camp ever! I am missing it already. However, these 9 days have zapped all my energy away, and I am starting to lose my focus on God! HOW~!!?? too much fun already!
