ACS.

ACS-Assembly of the Christmas Scums. A Christmas party held on the 23rd of December at Joey's place.

It was probably one of the bestest christmas parties I've ever attended with friends. The food was awesome and the company was great.

Food- Lionel cooked, Liang helped. We had beef stew, spagetti, bread and mussles! YUMMY.

Company- It was a small group, but it was cosy. I like it when everyone went around to share about how 2007 has been for them, what to thank God for and what to look forward to in the next year. Everyone was open and everyone had their fair share of sharing. I guess we were all blessed by the stories. We sang Christmas carols led by Joey and Daniel (with a super out of tune guitar.) Haha. Then after that Joey shared his testimony and the gospel was shared... And we pray and believe it'll change Bryan's and Clarence's hearts.

Gift exchange- According to cheryl, we all had to get a gift related to the theme: All I want for Christmas is you. And everyone had to give reasons why they bought the gift and how it was related to the theme. When it came to my turn, I couldn't explain my gift- a towel. I tried to smoke, but it was a lousy attempt. ahaha.. Aye, I got it because it was practical. And I received Liang's present- a moleskin notebook. =) There were other interesting gifts such as a DATE BALL, a DATING voucher and an Elmo...

The after thoughts - This is the first of many ACS celebrations. More to come! More fun, more laugher, more sharing, more food, more jokes, more bullying.. ahaha.. This christams was special in many ways and I really thank God for all that has happened. I'm really looking forward to the next year. It's gonna be challenging but I'm gonna cling on to God and embrace the year ahead. =)

Korea.

*picture heavy!*

1. Like Mother- Like daughter.

My dad didn't go with us in the end. 'Cos he had work commitments during the week. Sigh. We only found out one day before we left for korea. SO we were not able to find another replacement. So, the air ticket and the holiday was forfeited. Nonetheless, I had a great time with my mummy. =)

2. Scenic Korea

Very very pretty. I saw LOADS of snow. Saw teeny- weeny bit of snow flakes. hurhur. Wished i could go skiing!

4. Cutesey Stuff.

Top left: Nice sea view.
Top right: The two level apartment my mum and I stayed in on the second night.
Bottom left: A cubicle for "the MUM" and "her KIDS."
Bottom right: Taken in the cave. "Be careful" became "Be CARFUL". hurhur. Full of cars in the cave.

5. Me, Myself and I.

Go figure: Me -- feeding the sheeps, snow sleighing, licking the biggest ice ball, 2 year old Chloe and I in the korean costume, her 6 month old sister-Natalie and I at the airport...

I love the baby and I love chloe. They are so ADORABLE. =) Their eye lashes are SUPER long..

Anyway, the tour group was very small. Only 3 families. 2 and a half to be exact. We visited two theme parks. It was part of the itenary. Yongin Everland and Lotte World. I had to queue up for the rides alone, take them alone. And the queues for the rides are no joke.. Everyone needs to queue for at least an hour before we can enjoy the rides. And you know, like korean dramas, the theme parks had MANY MANY couples. So sweet, so romantic. hurhur. And yes, it was quite pathetic having to take all the thrilling rides ALONE. Bleah. I shall go with my friends next time. It'll be fun. heehee.

Back from Rhema & Camy Retreat.

Being part of the Rhema committee in itself is a great blessing. It was a great opportunity to expose myself to different circumstances, and grow in the Lord... It was also another experience to work with different individuals of different working styles. I'm so blessed to be able to be part of this wonderful committee. (Pictures will be up soon!)

Pastor Andy rocks. Although he is small, he has tremendous energy and very passionate for his ministy. (Reminds me of Joey. Ha, loads of people think so too ah.) I was blessed by the three "P"s. 1.Purpose - knowing our purpose will shape your destiny. Our purpose in life will determine our identity, not the other way around. 2. Potential - All of us have hidden potential. We should look beyond what we see. A durian seed is not just a seed, but a FOREST. 3. Process.... (whooops. I think I was running errands then.) 4. Philip, Andrew and the little boy. (I couldn't really concentrate that day. I think my mind was clouded with thoughts.)

I remember breaking down after the first night rally because many things happened to me the whole day and the emotions just accumulated, I remember working on the script many many times with Cheryl (ng), Joey and Joel Tay, I remember how we always laugh at Huifen and Andrea over rehearsals during the "Bimbo" scene (very natural I tell you, talented in other words), I remember desperately crying out for God on the third night rally, I remember how Kennaf was so extremely happy after the last Rhema rush ended, I remember how the conferrees worshipped (worship was awesome in fact, God's presence was so strong)... SO many more things to remember!

Well, the many things that happened during Rhema helped me to fully taste and experience what it meant to have God in control, TOTAL control and there is NOTHING we should worry about... What it meant to fully TRUST in God, what it meant know that God is pleased with us so long as we've done your best, what it meant to take the focus of ourselves...
Cuixian, Evan and I headed down to Marina South to meet the rest of the Camy-ians for the Camy retreat at St. John's Island! I was extremely tired and I think I suffered from sleep deficit.. I don't know why, but I could really sleep anywhere and everywhere. The ferry was SO rocky I tell you. I have the rocky, bobbing up and down feeling even right now! (I think I slept too much. haha. Reminds me of Tioman! And boy, it was one and a half years ago!)
Anyway, Camy retreat was really a retreat. It was so relaxing.. I like. The place we slept looked worst than a army bunk. It looked so old-school-hospital-like bunk with loads of mosquitoes... I remember I sprayed so much insect repellent on myself I look like I had shiny skin. HAha. I'm afraid of mosquitoes 'cos if the NTU ones.

These were the highlight of Camy retreat:

1. Cook "Char-bee hoon". Yea, I can't cook. And it was evident then. I don't know why my team cooked SO much bee hoon. But Ricky had such a hard time trying to fry it. Haha. We poked fun at how he stir-fried it and he just said "Aiyah, very heavy lah..." And yes, we had to swallow 8 bowls of char-coaled bee-hoon. In the end, both teams only managed to finish 3 bowls. Haha. Nonetheless, it was an interesting activity!

2. BBQ cum campfire. I didn't cook, I ate. haaha. Then the stewards gave us an evaluation of how we've done the whole year and how we can improve... I think it was a really sweet gesture!

3. The shower- it was army style. No doors. The partitions for each cubicle was only until my shoulder. So the girls had to refrain from looking over. haha. Interesting.

4. 10 o'clock hike. All of us went for the hike except Cuixian and Manrong... We walked to this place to chill out. We sat in a circle, sang songs (live music!) and did a replay of DYTM's break up scene (cos the two main characters-samantha and jeremy were there). Super entertaining.. Then we laid on the floor to look at the stars... It reminded me of Louie Giglo's presentation at Hillsong conference this year about how small the earth is compared to the whole universe... and God created EVERYTHING... Amazing. I did some reflection and was thinking of someone.. And I became a little emotional (maybe I was just tired). We were treated with loads of shooting stars. I only managed to see one though.. But it was still a treat, cos how often do we get to see stars/ shooting stars in Singapore? It was very cold, and being the toilet queen, I had to go to the toilet. But because we were outdoors, I had to pee behind the trees. Haha.

Anyhow, this week ZOOMed past like that. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks and the new year ahead... :)

Packing, Going, Gone.

Huifen came over to my house to stay last night. We managed to catch up with each other after such a long time... Talking about .... Heh. Thank God for the friendship, I'm so glad our paths crossed as roomies last year. Well, we had our misunderstandings, but hey, which friendship doesn't encounter misunderstandings? Anyway, I didn't really entertain her yesterday, cos I was quite tired. But we managed to "shop" online together... and spent half the day together today before heading down to G2.

Today's sermon was about the fear of the Lord, I enjoyed it, learned. Something to ponder about, to start the new year with the fear of the Lord...

Oh my goodness! Rhema's tomorrow! Whooo-hooo.. I wonder what lies ahead, but nonetheless, we'll keep praying and commit everything to the Lord. :) I'm excited! Really.. We're all excited yes? :)

I'm packing right now. I'll be MIA-ing from the 9th- 21st! Happy holidays! heehee.. Immediately after Rhema, Pastor CX, Adora and I will be heading down to Marina South Pier to meet the rest of the CAMY-ians for CAMY retreat at St. John's Island! Wheeee.. (Although I get this feeling that I'll probably be dozing off half the time... hurhur).

Immediately after that, on the 15th, I'll be going to Korea! So now I'm packing for Rhema, Retreat and Korea. (heh, I just got scolded by my mummy, cos she says that my schedule is too packed. And she knows that I'll be DEAD tired. And when I am tired, I'll be in a bad mood. Not a nice way to start our family trip yah.. )

Oh, please pray for Rhema! Pray for good weather, pray for God's strength, pray that we'll be kept healthy...

Good bye!

Rejoice!

YAY! My exams are finally over... I'm happy. Really. I feel extremely free.. Well, free from school work that is. :)

Rhema is in exactly one week's time and I super excited about it! :) I've been exposed a lot and I'm enjoying it. From tomorrow onwards, Rhema's gonna be my priority. (that's the way uh-huh uh-huh, I like it. uh-huh uh-huh..)

Anyway, zhanglao aka serene teo got married yesterday! Oh mann! Time FLIES! Really. I knew her when I was back in STC, when I was only 14. She was my cell mentor and my mentor. 6 years on, and she's married. Heehee.. She looked really pretty! Heh. Unfortunately, we didn't take any photos with my camera. (silly me) I pray that God's love will continue to bind them (vincent and serene) together.

Anyhow, after the wedding, andrea and i went to G2 with pastor cuixian.
AND I saw my twin. hahaha! Super funny. We wore EXACTLY the same colours, our names start with HUI, and we were serving communion together. hurhur. When Michael Rod saw me he said, "Why do you look like her?" (and points to huifen sitting beside him). Then huifen stood up and 3 of us laughed in unison. heh!

okay, I never knew huifen was so tall until today. heh.
