End of Week Update

Well well, last week was a little crazy. 2 assignments (aka term papers aka project) were due on thursday and friday. It was a little bit stressful, but I survived! I thank God for good project mates and friends who supported and prayed for me. =) On thursday, I went to crystal jade with wing, clare, constance and jacky for dinner. AND guess what, we might go for the MAYDAY concert... But the tickets are super ex! All depends on whether we will be able to save enough. It's held after our exams anyway.. Wheee.. can't wait for everything to be over.

Highlight of the week: CHAN LING ZHI's Birthday party at Miss Clarity Cafe!

Well, it rained super heavily yesterday, so I took my own sweet time to get out of the house (i had the intention to take a cab, and hoped to reach around 6.45. So i left my house at 6.15) Well, I waited 15 mins for the cab. When I finally boarded the cab, I was stuck in a jam for almost 45 mins!!!! Siao! So you know how much my cab fare was from lakeside all the way to upper thomson! Bleah! My heart DROPPED. But, I'll do anything just to be present for my dear friend's birthday party.

Zhi looked good yesterday... She wore a simple black dress, heels (i think she wore heels) and round earrings! So pretty. heh. But because of the "how well do you know ling zhi game" her face was covered with camo-cream when we were about 8 mins into the game! Poor girl. She had a hard time taking the camo-cream out. She managed to remove the "make up" on her face with the facial wash the guys bought for her. Well, then after that, they played another game....... HAHA. This is super hilarious... I shall leave the details with me.. heehee. She looked so blissful! So cute! =)

The birthday girl and I.

P/S: ANDREA, everyone's gonna make sure you suffer the same faith (or worst) on your birthday!!!

(andrea and joanna were zhi's organizers)

I have 4 projects due next week! Ahhhh... I'm mid way through for most of them. Shall work on one tonight!

Anyway, I've got a new photos to show! Here's ONE. I love the background of this photo.

Mid Week Update

I had a quiz today. Last quiz of the semester. Boy was it TOUGH. I studied for it. It was open book. But unlike the other two open book quizzes where the answers could be found in the textbook, the lecture notes were totally useless today! Most questions/answers were not found in the lecture notes! Even if we read the fine prints of the lecture notes, we won't find anything useful. Well, I think the professor sort of went explained some of the stuff on the white board during the lectures... (well, apparently I didn't pay attention for most part of it, hence the difficulty of the test.)

I have two projects due on Friday. I completed my individual term paper already. *pats my back* Tomorrow's dedicated to my group project. I have one project (individual) due on tuesday, another two projects(individual) due on wednesday and another one (pair work) due next friday. MADNESS yes!? I agree. I'm glad I'm 50% done for my individual ones, just need to revise them, edit a here and there...

I have many many 21st birthday parties coming up.... Zhi's, Lixian's, Mine, Kavitha's, Siao Mei's... So happening! =) Wished you were here to celebrate with me.

God has been faithful and interesting and encouraging.

He is unchangeable
Who can turn Him from His promises
He will do as He says
And make me complete

He is unstoppable
My God controls my destiny
All I need to do
Is surrender and be still.

Is that true?

I choose to believe that with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

________ will change.

God will transform us. We need to keep praying for _________.

Thankful.

I am EXACTLY one month away from my first paper. HURRAY. Well, I'm kind of looking forward to it because of the long break. Another day closer to the day we unite again. I'm also dreading it because the month will fly pass very quickly and I still have 6 more assignments due this month! *HANG IN THERE*

I went to the Mosiac Festival with my CAMY team today. I really enjoyed the fellowship! It was all funny and interesting and light hearted. Today, I think I laughed more than I did throughout the whole week. I'm definitely anticipating more fellowship activities after the exams!

What Hurts The Most
Rascal Flatts
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm ok
But that's not what gets me
What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin' to do
It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I'm doin' It
It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin' with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
Not seeing that loving you
That's what I was trying to do
Ooohhh....

Meet the PIE KIA

I was at Lot 1 with evangeline yesterday. And we walked past this shop called the PIE KIA shop. The smell of butter was so strong, smelt yummy. I learned at my biobiz module that when you start a new business, the market name needs to be marketable. And I think this shop has such a marketable name! The PIE KIA- there's a pun! (get it?) The "Pie Kid" / the "Naughty Kid".

Look at the menu! "Pie Kia", "Pie Seh", "Toa Pie Kia"!! haha. "Toa Pie Kia"s are bigger portions of "Pie Kia"s.. "Pie Seh" sells pies with interesting fillings.. fruitty pies. There's a pun here too.. Pie Seh: Embarass/ Pies with charisma.. haha!

Now meet the Pie Kia.. Cute ganster boy. Evan and I couldn't resist. So we bought 2 pies each. Well, the pies are reasonable priced. I didn't get to try them though! But my parents said the pies are really good.

It's gonna be the next big thing in S'pore!

我吃软不吃硬

Okay, I shall blog about everything now while it is still fresh in my mind.

I'm feeling like crap now... I mean I always feel like that when something bad happens. Normal isn't it? Maybe you deal with it with a different way from I do, but if you don't know how I deal with such things, then I'll tell you now - When something bad happens, I will develop a wall around me and pretend that nothing is wrong. I'll sms you in exclamation marks, I'll sound positive when I sms/talk to you. BUT, deep down inside my heart, I feel like crap! I will dwell in the situation for about 2 days. I'll be grouchy and moody.

It was such a humbling experience. I should have asked whenever I am in doubt. I should not have acted smart, as if I knew it all.

I have a very blessed life and I thank God for that. Everything seems to be going on pretty fine, maybe perhaps that's why when a setback occurs, I choose the easy way out, I run away from it. I choose to believe and trust in God for whatever that's happening... I believe in His timing. I choose to believe that things happen so I can learn something out of it, and it could be God's way of building me stronger. He has the best and knows what is good for me. So I need to trust Him.

我吃软不吃硬.

It sucks being away from you, whenever such things happen. Perhaps being away will make me a stronger person as well. And yes, " there is nothing you can do except to pray and ask God to fill your absence and void in my life."

Turning 21 isn't an easy feat. I have a lot of things to catch up on, and I mean A LOT. I should be better prepared next time.

Dear Lord, I thank you for allowing this to happen to me, because I can direct my attention to You. YOU are my only hope and my strength.

Love God, Obey God

The YA cell ministry has started on a book study - Deuteronomy.
To me, Deuteronomy is a super long book. When we were told we were going to do Deuteronomy, I went "HUH...." I used to think it was boring and long, until I had to teach it. Well, then naturally, my perspective had to change.
We're only into our second lesson on Deuteronomy and I am already blessed. I remembered how encouraged we were listening to one another's testimonies on God's grace upon our lives the last lesson. I'm excited to do the rest of the book!

We learned about the overview of Deuteronomy today. We learned about the main themes of Deuteronomy - To remember what the Lord has done; To love and obey God's commands and laws; Obedience brings blessings and disobedience brings curses; God's promises.
The book is full of God's laws and regulations. And the Israelites were supposed to follow all the laws given. It really takes a lot of obedience to follow the laws becuase there are just too many. So often we focus too much on God's laws that we forget the most basic thing... To love God. Serene said, when we love God, we will NATURALLY obey Him. And since we cannot love someone we don't know (in other words we need to know God), we need to know God by reading the bible and immersing ourselves with the word and applying them. THAT is our commitment to the Lord. And hence, we've decided to start a cell blog to encourage one another with testimonies and encourage one another through our insights with God - entusiasts.wordpress.com. Our relationship with God should be life-oriented and we should see GOd in all aspects of our lives.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deut 6:5-7
