No more exams! I have a 3 month holiday!!! Wheee, I'll probably work. I'll find a job, make full use of my time. Cheems says she can't wait for MY results to come out, she seems more excited than I am. Well, I don't want to give myself any expectations, I'll trust God. Because I have already done my best. :)

Presenting to you some photos from Siaomei's Nerdy Party....

Open Book.

We had on open book exam today.
Boy was it exhuasting.
I think we spent more time preparing for the open book exam than a normal exam.
We had to read the notes, the textbook, the many many references, familiarize ourselves with everything.
Pick out the relevant information.
Write like mad.

Look at the beautiful tags on my notes... hurhur.

Sigh, they've all DEPRECIATED in value IMMEDIATELY after the exam.
Now, they are in my box chucked aside in one corner of the room.

Magic Four! :)
heh.

Sweet.

Constance told me the story of her dad and her mum last night on our way back to hall.
She said her dad and her mum are like adult-teenage couples still chasing each other.
I think that's super sweet.
Her dad had been deployed overseas for 4 months and will be coming back next week.
I can imagine the reunion scene between her mum and her dad.
It'll be super sweet.

She said she was skyping her dad one day.
And after a chat with her dad, her dad said "Okay okay, mummy is calling me now. I'm going to talk to her. Byebye."
I still think it's super sweet. Dont you think?
Each other are each other's priority.

She also told me that her mum always travels to the place her dad is, so they can spend time together.
Itsn't this super sweet too?
It's actually happening in reality, not in books/ drama serials.
I wish I had the finances (no need to take from my parents) and the freedom to travel to where ever my closest friends are too.

She mentioned that whenever she sees her mum cry, she wants to cry too.
I asked why? Is it because she misses your dad very much?
And she said yes.
AWWW...

Well, this is a story of a married couple with three grown up kids living like a young couple in their courting days. Super sweet.

Good Night!

I had a very bad dream last night.
I ended up crying in my sleep.
I woke up finding myself sniffing and tearing (sobbing).
I went to the toilet, saw myeslf in the mirror.
I was really affected by the dream.. Yikes.
I just broke out into a short prayer...

Sometimes I think I've really taken my parents for granted.
I've been staying in hall the past weekend, hoping to better prepare myself for the exams.
Yet, throughout this whole week, I didn't even take the initiative to call my parents to ask how they were doing. Although I met them on Tuesday for dinner, I think it is not enough.
I hope the dream would be a wake up call for me .

I was feeling a little down in the morning.
Thinking about the dream and other things.
Thank God I was still able to concentrate on my paper today.
We discussed some topics regarding the paper until 1 plus am this morning and met again around 10 am for final preparations.

I am really relieved the paper is over.
It was one big burden that was released. YAY.
One more big paper to go next tuesday and another small one on wednesday.
After the paper, we went out for dinner.
I was still feeling emotional, especially after I received the whole chunk of messages.
Clar and Consts were so sweet, they said "Don't worry, we'll be here for you."
Thanks girls.

We wanted to treat ourselves to happy food to celebrate the end of the week.
So we settled for Anderson's Ice Cream.
We happily ordered two waffle bowls with 3 scoops of ice cream each.
It costed us $13.50.
It was quite embarrassing because we thought we had enough cash on each other- The free rider effect.
We had to dig our wallets to pay for the ice cream.
So thank God, after counting in all the coins, we were able to pay for our "happy food"

I am still emotional.
Still upset.
Still affected.

I don't like exams.
It's the time we get hungry easily and grow fat.
I don't know where my money goes to.
I'm spending way too much money on food.

I am tired.
Still upset and affected.
Good Night!

All my delight is in You Lord.
There is no one else but You.
None but Jesus.

Gosh, BIG BREAKFAST (Scrambled Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Bake Beans, 2 pieces of bread) prepared by Cheemay and Hongxin. Oh mann.. She has a paper later but yet she went the extra mile to do this for me! I'm touched! YUMMY.

It's time for me to pick up a few culinary skills. :)

I'm still smiling.

Updates:
My mozzie bites are still very itchy. haha.

I looked through the book again, and well, I was really reminded about the past. The STC girls (von, jus, jul, henny, drey) reminded me about how I cried in class because I didn't know how to the math question. HAHA. I was brought back to the whole scene - Instant flashback! Von also mentioned how we used to admire "cool" seniors, how we used to take the bus to school together and hang out at World Trade Centre's Macdonalds (It's Harbourfront now). Awww.. good old memories.

Then when I read the church peeps' (von, drea, zhi, grace, evan, sis poh suan, serene teo and cheryl ng) messages, I never realised how much I've grown, physically and spiritually... The pictures brought back fond memories as well! I don't remember taking some of them though! It is definitely by God's grace I am who I am today. Amazing grace. Awesomeness. The changes may be incremental, but I think the change is quite remarkable. Haha.

My two beloved roommies (huifen and cheemay) also shared about how our friendships blossomed. Instantly, I was reminded about Huifen's lingering perfume every morning, about how we worshipped and prayed for the cell, and the big misunderstanding that we had. WOW. Cheems has been treating me very well since the day we became roommies. She'll buy fruits (our source of vitamin C, extra food for me, do my laundry ... Ahhh.. and a lot more things. :)

And of course, all these would not have been possible without Joey's effort in compling all these!

Photos of how the book looks like (in the page order).

2. Editor's Foreword
3/4: Pages that belong to Von.

I went Jurong Point for a simple dinner with my parents today - Crystal Jade. No fanciful dinner today because it was quite last minute. I wanted to spend my special day with them. So I called them after my paper and they brought me out for dinner. :)

____________________________________
I came back from dinner. Watched an episode of my favorite show: ANTM Cycle 10! Wheee.. reminded me of TMNTM aired on April 5th 2008. hurhur.
Joey called me. He was at a K-Box equivalent with his church friends and he sang 五月天's 最重要的小事 (Mayday's The Most Trivial Thing Is The Most Important). After that, his friends sang "Happy Birthday" to me. :)
After that, I took out my notebook to study, I opened the notebook and I saw a lovely card from consts, wing, clare, jacky and florence. HAHA. So colourful. I like.

Thank you all for smsing me, thank you for remembering. :)

Once again, I'm blessed beyond words.

Okay, I shall enjoy the last 40 minutes of this day, before I start to prepare for my next paper.

15th April 2008

Const, Wing, Clare and I stayed over the weekend to study in school. Since we camped in school, we didn't really want to travel to places beyond Jurong Point. So on Sunday, Consts, Wing and i decided to go to City Harvest for service. I wouldn't want to miss out on God's word over the exams yes! Service was awesome. God's presence was so strong. Well, even though I didn't know 90% of the songs they sang, the lyrics were meaningful. :)

The deputy senior pastor, I forgot his name (not Pastor KH), preached the word of God. He talked about prayer and the importance of prayer and just being in God's presence. It was apt and concised. He mentioned this "Even though we know so much theories about prayer, but some of us never do anything about it." One take home message was: our roots are not from te earth, they'll vanish. But our roots are in heaven, moving with God. It's better to say 5 words with understanding, than to say a thousand words without understanding. Hence, the point of it all is to pray and DWELL in the presence of God. Only when we're plugged into God, the holy spirit will guide us.

10 mosquitoes gave me a birthday present each.YES, I have 10 mozzie bites altogether! Extremly itchy I tell you. Everywhere I go, a tube of mopiko is in my bag.

Happy Birthday to me! And to all other 15 April babies around the world. heh.

I complained non-stop and was a little moody yesterday because I thought I couldn't enjoy my birthday. I spent the whole day studying in the tutorial room with Clare, Wing and Jacky... Felt a little emotional and irritated. But they really cracked me up over lunch together with Consts. Laughter is theraputic, a form of release. haha. Oh by the way, NTU has really good food now. It has Subway, Canadian Pizza, Sakae Sushi, Palette and Old Chang Kee - come and join me for lunch/ dinner one day! Hurhur. We headed out for dinner at Sakae Sushi. Pretty concept, good ambience, extremely big. Heh. Since it was my birthday, Jacky decided to treat me to Sakae Sushi! YAY! I enjoyed myself being myself. haha. So I did enjoy myself after all.

I went back to hall after dinner yesterday, my mummy said she has something to pass to me. Well, since I was still very moody and a little stressed over the paper, I thought she wanted to give me tonics for the exam or something. haha. When she came, she passed me this FED-EX box. Whooo.. a present from overseas. And I saw Huifen's name on it. I remember that time I hinted to her that I wanted a couple gift from Mike and her. Maybe this is it. haha.. I immediately went up to open it. :)

And I saw this Macbook box, I opened it and it read:

I was really excited and surprised. I spent a good 15-20 minutes looking through the book. Ahhh.. Super sweet. The book travelled from Shanghai to US to Singapore... Inside the book were messages and well wishes from my closes friends. I was very very touched. Cos Joey doesn't really know half of the people in the book. But he managed to contact them all with the help from my bestie, Von.

Heh, I kept smiling when I read the messages and looked at the photos.

Halfway through the book, Cheems said "Oh.. it's finally here." *and smiled at me*

Me: "You know about it?"
Cheems: "Ya."
Me: "How did it all happen?"
Cheems: "You finish reading first lah.. heh."

So when I was finally done with it, Chee May said this was done about a month ago. Joey actually sent out an email to all of them. Haha. I read the email and I was like "Awwww..." Whar, to coordinate something like this takes a lot of patience and hardwork. Thank you, Joey! heehee. I love it. hurhur.

Add ons: Thank you von for helping to get the contacts, thank you huifen for sending it over. ;)

The cover page of the loveliest present/surprise among the many recieved on my 21st.

Blessed! :)

When the clock struck 12, Joey called. Haha. Immediately after he put down, Zhi called. She said her timing is good... She said she planned the timing beforehand so she wouldn't clash with Joey. haha. So sweet.

On this very special day, I had my first exam paper! It was early in the morning. Cheemay and HongXin woke up earlier than me to prepare breakfast for me! You know, like AI XIN CHAN. (read in chinese). It was bread with ham and cheese and microwaved! Although it was a simple breakfast, I haven't had such a "good" breakfast since the start of the sem. haha. They wanted to make English Breakfast for me, but I had to go off for my exam. I wouldn't have enjoyed the long, slow breakfast because my mind will be on the exam.

Well, God is good. The paper was alright. Not all the questions were straightforward though. BUT, I didn't cry after the exam. Instead, I was happy. :) Haha. I'm supposed to be sleeping now and resting before I go back to the tutorial room to find the rest. But I'm really blessed beyond words and I am extremely happy. haha.

Mid Week Update Part 2

I am still tired.
Today, my friend saw me and she said "whar, why you look so shag?"
I don't know mann.

I went for Kavitha's surprise 21st birthday party today. Heh. Christin and I met slightly earlier to go to Kavi's house. We went in. And we were quite shocked.. well, cos we didn't see any familiar faces there. So we sat by the corner and waited for maisha to come. When she finally came, we felt more at ease. heh.

While waiting for kavi to come back...

We waited for almost an hour for Kavi to return home with her boyfriend. The whole surprise was planned by her bf and the decorations were done by him too! So sweet ah! haha. When she came back, she looked extremely happy. She kept smiling and said 'Thank you very much for coming." to everyone present. I think she repeated that like ten thousand times.

She went up to change into a beautiful Sari. Then, we had the cake cutting... heh. She looked at me and said "Huiyi, I use your line okay?" I didn't know what she was referring to until she told everyone, "Okay, now you guys can sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me." haaahaaa.. Reminded me of what happened on Saturday. After the cake cutting session, we watched a video. N she was moved to tears! Well, I think she was pleasantly surprised because she never stopped smiling eversince she stepped into her house. I'm glad she enjoyed herself. :)

half of the nj netballers

Christin and I left earlier... Cos we wanted to be back early.

On our way back....

My favorite picture of the day.

Christin wanted to capture the street lamp, so i posed. haha

Gosh, look at those eye bags!

I think 21st birthdays are very special to most of us. So i'll make it a point to attend my friend's 21st if I'm invited. :)

Kavi says: "Hey. Thank u SO MUCH for today. Ur presence today has made my day, month and yr! I'm REALLY BLESSED to have such amazing friends like you in my life. Thank u SO MUCH for taking time off ur busy schedule and making this special day even more special for me. I sincerely appreciate it. U have no idea. Thank u SO MUCH. :) "

See get what I mean when she said it ten thousand times? haah

P/S: I think having 21 cupcakes on your 21st birthday is a pretty cute idea. :)

Mid Week Update Part 1

I am very tired.

Well, my cell and I went for campus E on tuesday! It was so encouraging I tell you. When we met for the "briefing" on tues evening, most of us were scared because it was our first time doing evangelism on the campus. After Jolene led a short prayer, we went out in pairs! Poor michael had to be alone though! Jeannette and I walked around the North Spine for about 10 mins. Until we finally settled for someone... We shared the gospel with her through a survey that Jolene prepared for us. She was quite opened with the gospel... but she said she was satisfied with her faith in another religion... But no worries, we sowed a seed. And we moved on.

We saw this chinese girl studying and approached her. She couldn't understand the survey because she didn't understand english (she is an exchange student from china). So both of us thought it was an excellent opportunity to share the gospel with her in chinese! BUT, the only chinese words we could make out were Jesus and The Cross. SIGH. It was such a humbling experience because we thought we knew everything, but actually we don't. We were a little upset but we moved on.

We approached another lady who was sitting alone. She wanted to do the survey, but she said "It is possible if you speak mandarin with me? My english is not good." Both of us stared at each other and replied, "Sorry, our mandarin is not that good either." We wasted two opportunities just like that, just because we were not fluent in our chinese! Both of us agreed that we should buck up on our basic christian terms in chinese, so we can reach out to these people.

Although we had to "report" back, we decided to try for one more person. This time round, this girl was really opened to the word. She has never heard the gospel before. So you see the immediate response on our faces... we were ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED. We shared the gospel with her and she said "Thank you for sharing with me." She has questions about christianity and we promised to keep in contact with her and answer her queries. She said she is really busy now preparing for the exams. Well, do pray with us for this precious soul. :)

Then we went back to meet the rest. It was so encouraging to hear their stories. I was very excited actually. There was so much joy within my heart I wanted to tell someone about it. I immediately mailed cx about it even though I needed to go to the toilet urgently then. Haha.

All in all, God was really encouraging! And I wouldn't mind doing it again! All for the glory of God!

Randomness

YAY! I'm finally free from ALL my projects. It was so liberating to tear down the whole list of assignments/projects/tests from my wall. WHEEE... Just in time for tomorrow. Hurhur.

Anyway, I was browsing through my photos and look what i found... Pictures of cheemay, christin and myself in SPOTLIGHT. I think this was taken a few months back?

it's a hat affair! Reminds me of justina's 21st hat party.

Cheemay and her telescope.

Captain hook and two other characters. I think I was supposed to the a fairy. But you can't really see the pink stuff cos the background is too pinky. Christin's headgear look like candles. So lets call her the candle woman.

I had "follow up" with my friend today. I've been trying to reach out to her/help her understand her faith better. It's really hard, cos she has so many doubts... Its scary cos I'm now "in-charged' of her. I don't want to lose her... I almost cried today cos something seems to be stopping her from growing deeper... Each time I meet her, she's still the same... I wonder if I'm a lousy follow up leader. Pray with me for my friend okie? The bible said that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move the mountain. So I pray that little faith will arise in her.

Time to Breathe

Well, the start of the week was quite hectic. I had three projects due one after another. It was mad. I thought I could leave it alone and not bother about it after I completed one last friday. But I just had to re-look at it on Monday and on Tuesday (the due date for one of the projects) to make ammendments and look for additional information. Just this morning, I clicked SUBMIT for my other two projects. It was so LIBERATING! Like seriously. Nothing more to worry about. I even went for my trial Kick-Boxing class at Amore with dear Cheryl Ng. I'm so glad I just have one final assignment due this friday and THAT'S IT. Well, I'm blessed to have friends who helped me along my projects, gave me insights on how to improve, gave me links to the information I need, gave me feedback.... etc. Couldn't have done better without their help.

I would also like to thank Jolene... Thank you for helping me with cell despite your busy schedule... I was really encouraged when you shared about how you wanted to support me and how you asked the cell to support me. Lulu's giggly and cute, easily amused.. I like it when we always talk on our way back to hall.

I went mediacorp on monday with clare, wing and jacky. We went to watch U ARE THE ONE - a channel U talent scout show. Well, clare's hall mate participated in it and we went there to see what it was like. The show wasn't fantastic though. I mean, I think I probably grew out of the "OH-YOU-ARE-SO-CUTE" phase already. haha.

3 of us before the show started.

And again, I have no idea what clare was trying to do.

3 skinny and pretty hosts. Quan Yi Feng, Kym Ng, Fiona Xie

3 of us again during the break.

With Eunice Olsen.

By the way, Clare is my official twin in NTU. Her friends said we look like twins. Probably cos of the height, built, single eyelid small eyes, bobby hairstyle. (ahaha, that's almost everything)

I'm disappointed that I can't go over to ______ anymore. 6 MONTHS!!! :( I thought I could still convince my parents though.. but after today's talk, I know that my chances of going over are slim. I shall talk to the GIP coordinator tomorrow and see what he suggests.

I've got more pictures to show. ONE a week okie.

BIG SIGH, okay, I need to study again.

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added onto you."
