hey! look what cheryl found out! Pictures of a capsule hotel in Osaka, Japan..
eeekks.. so scary right? Looks like the place where dead people "rest". Imagining yourself sleeping in a morgue? *shivers*
Wikipedia says:
A capsule hotel is a hotel system of extremely dense occupancy. Guest space is reduced in size to a modular plastic or fibreglass block roughly 2 m by 1 m by 1.25 m, providing room to sleep and little more, although facilities usually include a television and other electronic entertainment. These capsules are then grouped and stacked, two units high. Luggage is usually stored in a locker away from the capsule. Privacy is maintained by a curtain at the open end of the capsule but noise pollution can be high. Washing facilities are communal and there are often restaurants, or at least vending machines, and other entertainment facilities.
Funny how people can come up with such things.

Ever wondered what goes on in the life of a typical freshman in university, who lives in the hall and is active in sports? University life is demanding, challenging and overwhelming. I feel unsure, ineffective and at a loss. To fit into the university culture, I had to leave the familiarity of my old environment and friends, adapt to new social norms and learn new behaviors. University life offers many opportunities for advancement and distraction -- there are so many modules to choose from, things to do and clubs to join. The more the choices, the more likely I end up without a choice. Not knowing what is best for me, not wanting to miss out in any activities, I find myself at the crossroads.
Campus living is an integral part of my holistic educational experience. I chose to stay in a hostel not because I stay very far from school, not because I want freedom, but because I want to experience hall life. This is where I can mingle, interact and take part in hall activities, social functions and cultural activities. It is through hall life where I can develop determintation, confidence and independence. So far, hall life is like a packet of jelly beans, full of colours and vibrancy.
Ever since university started, it stole my sleep, snatched my solitary moments and robbed me off my weekend. I have less time at hand; my lifestyle has to change. This is me, with a spirited university life, stiving for my honours.

colour pencil effect!
a-go-go!
you know the olden day photos where people don't look into the camera and smile faintly? (looks like i didn't pull it off)
ahh.. this is better.
huifen says hi: " I am nice, I keep my room clean, I am an early bird. Every afternoon when I come back from school I know that Huiyi had been in a rush because her clothes are thrown everywhere and her table is peeping through her pile of things. As I open the fridge, I realised what she had for breakfast; vitasoy, apple tea and half a can of tuna. But she does have her redeeming points, she lends me her necklaces to enhance my beauty. While checking my reflection to see my beauty today, I saw a floating figure walk past in the reflection, guess someone forgot to make some noise before she entered the room. OPPS, by the way, I did the laundry one night and hung them up to dry in the middle of the night all alone because (scene: "I think we left our laundry in the washing machine," I woke up and said. SILENCE.) "
MY reply: haha. Well, it's true that I am in a rush every morning. I don't want to wake up so early, because that defeats the purpose of staying in hall! HEH. I am not that messy! I am quite organized okay. Anyway, putting all the "complains" aside, I really I thank God for you, sister! HEHE.

Everything In Its Time
by Corrinne May
Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round
Some folks try astrolody
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer,
To get through it all
I just fall on my kness and I try to pray
In the silence I can hear Him say
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under they sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
I often feek like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under they sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
'cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my lide
Funny how time changes and how we see
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under they sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time

So, what have I been busy with..
I led the life of a "celebrity". It was not fun at all because of all the sacrifices we had to make. (Well, I asked for it.) All the hardwork for the past one month ended in a few minutes for each of the 4 segments. Not only were we stage performers, we didn't get to enjoy the 10 course dinner! We ate MACdonalds on a dinner and dance! But nonetheless, it was a great experience!
Now, it's high time I start to focus on my studies. Because I need to catch up with my work! I have a test tomorrow.. but nothing seems to go in. Sigh.
Oh, I read yahoo today. The crocodile hunter, Steve Erwin died! He got stung by a stingray on his diving trip! Honestly, I was shocked. Because I really like his documentaries. Anyway, when I went onto MSN, my friend sent me this message: "In case you have not already known, the crocodile hunter, Steve Erwin has passed away on monday. In memory of him, please put the turtle in front of your nick." (it wasn't the exact message because i can't remember it..but it was something like that huh.) Well well.. why is everyone so disturbed about his death? Was he even that great? Since everyone cares so much about him, then how come nobody cares about Jesus' death on the cross? We as christians need to be more proactive in the spreading of the gospel!
It's pretty sad my beloved cell has splitted just like that. I thought I could still treat it as my sister cell where I can look for support and all.. But looks like everyone is going off to different cells.. And I'm going to be left out again. Time to move on perhaps. Time to enlarge my circle of friends perhaps. But I sincerely pray that we would continue to grow in the Lord no matter where we are. Most importantly, I pray that we would make every effort to keep a look out for each other.
